Christmas Concerts and Confections!

The Christmas season is packed for my family! Our family sings and plays instruments together as our own group called the Music Smiths, then we sing with the Temple Hill Choral Singers all throughout the Holiday Season! It is a stressfull, but very rewarding time of year. I love Christmas expecially on Temple Hill, with the lights, the music, and the great memories of spending time every Christmas season on this hill for the last 10 years! I love having a Temple so close to home, where I can relive the memories in that giant empty gym of the backstage rush of Temple Pageant, or quietly awaiting our turn on stage during a choir performance, or building or taking down sets. There are so many memories in that wonderful place.

Spotlight In The Park

The other day, I had to do a performance for my class for the book we are reading, Macbeth. I was the only girl in the group... so I had to be Lady Macbeth. So I curled my hair all nice and pretty.. but by the end of the day this is all that remained of my curls (and yes, it is not a great picture of just my hair, but you can tell there are barely any curls left.) So sad, I know but it was fun anyways. Plus - i love taking pictures and I seem to be the only willing non-cameraphobe picture subject.. :)

Later, we went to the park with our adorable dog, J.C. (joyful canine), and my sister took some cute pictures of me and Steven! :D

Thanksgiving Road Trip

This post is all about our recent Utah trip, and it is also a tribute to my grandpa. He recently passed away, but I know he is much happier now. I'm really thankful this Thanksgiving season to have had my grandpa for the years we had him.

'Going Signing'

The day after Halloween, my mom and I went what she calls 'signing', that is, we went around to all of her pretty campaign signs for school board, and added to and/or fixed them. We added the pretty pinwheels, the flags, and fixed some of the spangles. Then, it started raining. During all of this stapling with the powerful staple gun and sticking things with duct tape that wasn't really sticking in the rain, we noticed our shoes were getting so heavy we could hardly lift our feet! We looked down to realize there was layer after layer of thick mud on them after each trip we had made to the different signs. Even though we got cold and dirty, I got some good pictures, we made some great memories, and it must have helped the vote, because my mom pulled ahead to get 2nd place by only about 70 votes! :) Go Mom!! Congrats!! :)
